Manager, Solutions Development

Purpose of Role

The Manager, Solutions Development leads the development of new technology solutions from conception until adoption. This individual works cross functionally with multiple internal and external stakeholders to deliver technological capabilities in accordance with our 3-year strategy. This role is responsible for setting the priorities for a team of product owners and their respective solutions. The Manager will build close working relationships with multiple internal stakeholders across Logistics Solutions, Delivery Solution, Finance, Human Capital, and NPD to ensure solutions are launched successfully and value is delivered for the customer and for the company.

 

Areas of Accountabilities

Lead and Grow the Product Management Team

  • Lead a team of 2-3 product owners with responsibility for up to 6-10 technology products
  • In collaboration with Human Capital build strong-identity teams that apply diverse skill sets and perspectives to achieve common goals
  • Engage the Learning and Development team to build tools to ensure product development acumen on the team
  • Mentor, coach and support the team that drives trust, credibility, and future leadership

Bring expertise to the roadmap and strategy development process

  • Assist IT Senior Leadership in the development of the technology road map
  • Identify technology trends in the marketplace and how they can apply to existing or new technology solutions and business processes

Drive the solution design process to maximize Rehrig value

  • Establish solution design process, enabling effective cross-functional communication and creation of commercialized solutions, and ensure integration of that process with the overall OEB process for business projects
  • Define and ensure solution configurations that are developed are secure, resilient, scalable, and comply with architectural best practices and systems strategy
  • Work with the Director of IT Operations, Senior Manager of Enterprise Solutions, Enterprise Architect, and PMO to accurately estimate and deliver products consistently on time and on budget

Become a trusted advisor to key stakeholders across the organization

  • Build and manage internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the VP of IT to establish and evangelize a vision of a fully digital Rehrig Pacific Company
  • Develop solutions that drive business process efficiency and Rehrig Pacific

Assist in defining opportunities for Tech Adoption

  • Support the strategic plan of the VP of IT as the subject matter expert on internal business processes
  • Identify new business process areas as targets for digitalization that are currently untapped
  • Drive ideation sessions to develop new solution opportunities

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • B.S. in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Engineering
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience with cross-functional
  • Well-developed writing and presentation skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to research and analyze problems providing feedback, guidance and direction
  • Demonstrated experience with complex enterprise IT solutions (ERP, CRM, MES, WMS, etc)
  • Applied project management skills in developing technology solutions
  • 5-10 years’ experience managing technology software/hardware products or related experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience effectively managing high functioning teams
  • Willingness to travel ~30%
