National EHS&S Manager

Purpose of Role

The National EHS&S Manager is critical to supporting our Rehrig family members and community to provide safe and environmentally friendly operations.  The role is critical to supporting our Operations teams by creating standardization and supporting implementation of best practices in Operations as it relates to EHS&S.  The National EHS&S Manager is critical to identify and assess potential hazards, ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations, and implement programs to mitigate risks.

 

Manage National alignment of EHS&S Compliance and best practices across Operations.

  • Support the National audit program by leading audits to monitor compliance to regulatory and Rehrig EHS&S Standards by developing audit plans, completing written reports in a timely manner, and monitoring completion of any improvement plans.
  • Review internal incidents and ensure that root cause is determined, and corrective actions drive desired results.
  • Support Operations to respond to any external agency communications regarding EHS&S.
  • Serve as the trusted advisor regarding EHS&S aspects for the organization.
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge and training techniques on core EHS&S subjects to provide the knowledge and confidence in our local experts and trainers.
  • Maintain alignment and provide direct support to Operations locations as needed.
  • Maintain willingness to take on special projects or improvement initiatives with respect to EHS&S.

 

Manage EHS&S improvement and growth within Operations.

  • Collaborate with plant leadership to develop set targets and actions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support Operations on methods and solutions to improve sustainability impact.
  • Evaluate sustainability impacts of organizational changes to reduce our footprint.
  • Develop tools to collect leading and lagging indicators and demonstrate improvements.
  • Provide EHS&S operational reporting to EHS Managers and Leadership.

 

Create Standardization from a National Level for the EHS&S Management System

  • Manage EHS&S compliance by engaging in successful implementation of best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Support cross functional team members in developing and implementing local EHS&S aspects of the Rehrig Management System.
  • Develop clear and easy to follow processes that drive consistency and efficiency in Operations.
  • Maintain all National EHS&S programs, documentation, and consultative relationships.
  • Develop and partner with internal customers to create best practices and standardization across the organization.
  • Create engagement, literacy, and language diversity of the EHS&S training programs.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or EHS Management preferred
  • 5-7+ years working in EHS related role in a manufacturing, service, or construction environment
  • Remote management experience of multiple sites / locations is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with multiple team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams and facilitate progress.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (estimated travel frequency is 50%)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Rehrig Pacific, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80,000 - $100,000.
