Fulfillment Lead

Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to assist in the total preparation process of Delivery Solution’s fleet of material handling equipment. This involves receiving, shipping, and preparing the equipment for the customer by repairing, modifying, and completing quality inspections. This individual will be responsible for those activities and to assist the site manager in their duties; maintaining inventory counts, communicating with the supply chain team, and tracking order progress. A continuous improvement mindset is critical for the success of this role to identify inefficiencies and make recommendations for process improvement.

Areas of Accountabilities

Shipping and Customer Delivery

  • Exercise independent discretion to identify and execute activities necessary to fulfill customer orders.
  • Assist in the accurate collections of all relevant model and order data throughout the process, including, but not limited to, serial #, PDI, and BOL tracking.
  • Update order tracking logs after equipment shipments to customers. Attend and collaborate effectively during Scheduling meetings to ensure customer orders are delivered on time.
  • Lead day to day operations when Fulfillment Site Manager is away to ensure orders are shipped out on time.

Purchasing and Inventory

  • Keep adequate records to ensure the accurate receipt, inventory and shipment of product.
  • Sustain 5S standards of organization and cleanliness to make use of warehouse space.
  • Complete part audits and compare part numbers to spec sheet and shipping documents.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage advanced understanding of lift equipment to execute a PDI process to ensure equipment arrives at customer site in good condition.
  • Capture quality issues and communicate with supply chain leaders and where needed collaborate on corrective action and root cause remedy.
  • Update quality logs and scorecards to ensure issues are recorded and accountability is kept for timely problem resolution.
  • Inspect products to confirm correct assembly and product remains damage free.

Repair & configuration

  • As required troubleshoot and repair inspection failures on equipment.
  • Replace defective or nonconforming components, following warranty and tracking process requirements
  • Confirm effectiveness of repairs and document per standards.
  • Replace components and customize equipment as required per item specific requirements

Safety

  • Follow all applicable industry safety standards and regulations to ensure you and your team work in a safe manner.
  • Participate in safety training and apply what is learned to make the environment and work practices safe.
  • Follow safe trailer docking process and ensure drivers do the same.
  • Complete forklift safety inspections at the start of each shift. Ensure only safe equipment is used, take equipment out of commission as needed and communicate issues to manager.
  • Attend monthly safety training with local manufacturing team. Inspect fulfillment area for safety hazards and work with team to mitigate risk.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 2+ years of work experience in a mechanical related field
  • Must have working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong technical aptitude of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal).
  • Experience with JDE or another ERP system is a plus.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-moving environment.
  • Able to bend and work on equipment at ground level.
  • Able to frequently move about inside and outside the facility to access supplies and equipment.
  • Must be able to travel by road or airplane – 10% of the time to support customers on site.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
