Fulfillment Manager

Location: Dallas, TX

Purpose of Role

The primary responsibility of the Fulfillment Manager is to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of all orders processed through a high velocity fulfillment facility. The Fulfillment Manager must monitor the overall performance of the shipping/warehouse team, provide visibility to system gaps and challenges, and be able to drive improvements within the facility and across the value stream. This individual will be responsible for inventory management and working with the buyer/planner for item replenishment.
 

Areas of Accountabilities

Lead the fulfillment team

  • Review and maintain staffing levels required to meet daily activity.
  • Ensure all associates receive quarterly KA reviews, detailed annual performance reviews and continuous value-added feedback
  • Coach, manage, and lead the warehouse team in pursuit of efficient and timely fulfillment and in alignment with our core values.
  • Provide concise reporting to management on shipping/warehousing performance.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and discipline to standards (e.g. 5S, Standard work, etc.) that enables growth for everyone.

Execution of inventory & fulfillment activities

  • Adopt and optimize efficient receiving practices for inbound items.  Ensure items are clearly identified with RPC item #’s and stored in a manner conducive to facility goals.
  • Create and implement facility layout for efficient receiving, inventory, and fulfillment activities.
  • Manage and audit an efficient workflow of all warehouse processes and activities.
  • Active management of requisite stock levels including proactive management action and communication for out-of-stock items.
  • Take all steps necessary to measure and demonstrate inventory accuracy.
  • Manage the relevant assigned general ledger accounts per budget demands.
  • Collaborate with quality to execute quality checks and escalate issues to the appropriate team member.
  • Build end execute processes and systems scalable to future Delivery solutions pace and scale.   

Safety, Organization, & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure actions and initiatives within the team are in alignment and in compliance with National safety standards.
  • Ensure warehouse and shipping areas are exceptionally clean and organized according to 5S standards.
  • Manage shipping/warehouse related documentation and records (general production & compliance related).
  • Utilize continuous improvement tools to drive work, improve processes, systems, and procedures.
     

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Preferred:  Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or General Management
  • Required: 5+ years of Logistics Management or Fulfillment Management Experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with ERP and or WMS systems.  JD Edwards (ERP) software a plus.
  • Passion for leadership and employee development
  • Process and systems approach to problem solving
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient using MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to develop and implement processes from the ground up.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
